House of Cards Decor.
Today we are looking at the decor of House of Cards.
House of Cards is a American political thriller that can be viewed on Netflix. The reason I have picked this is because of the cool sophisticated colour scheme and decor they have created to resemble the interior of the White House.
The refined decor may just prompt you to do some re decorating in your own home.
These colours could work really well in your home to give you that luxurious and classic look.
The designers on House of Cards have used fairly light colours throughout the show. Many of the character’s wear dark, cold colours, and so the designers have created a neutral palette for a sort of silhouetting effect. It’s a sophisticated visual aspect that makes the show.
Our top picks for your own House of Cards colour palette....
The bedroom walls in the White House are a calming blue with light cream woodwork.
We have chosen Farrow & Ball colours Parma Gray for the walls and Pointing for the woodwork.
These two rooms have a warmer feel to them. So if you have mahogany furniture Farrow & Balls Farrows Cream for the walls and All White for the woodwork might be the way forward.
The hallway that leads into the bedroom looks so natural. We have gone for Farrow & Balls Ammonite for the wall colour and Pointing for the woodwork. This works really well with the mahogany side board.
The Kitchen. I would love to see Frank and Claire Underwood cook a fry up in this beauty. Ceiling and woodwork in Farrow and Balls Pointing, Wall colour in Farrow & Balls Borrowed Light, Kitchen units in Farrow & Balls Ammonite and the table and two chairs painted in Farrow & Balls Down Pipe.
Once again the decor light in colour with dark furniture. Ceilings and woodwork in Farrow & Ball All White and the walls painted in Farrow & Balls Blackened. Notice the coving has a sheen to it. You can use a Satin or Gloss finish paint to create this look.
