As a small painting and decorating business its tricky to help others in need.
At Drew Decor we have limited time, money and staff but rising above those obstacles we can help out our local community with free time that we would have for ourselves.
That’s what we did when a children’s centre at Catcliffe, Rotherham called for help.
The preschool required some TLC and wanted the main class room and toilet area redecorated ready for the children returning from summer holidays for the new term.
So they could concentrate their funds on apparatus and learning aids for the children instead of repair works.
The Meadows Community Pre-School are a registered charity and was established in February, 2015 to prevent the setting closing when Metropolitan Borough Council withdrew from the Children’s Centre based at Catciffe Primary School.
Drew Decor jumped at the chance to help and give their time as well as providing the materials for the project.
Team members Callum and Sam undertook the work and made a great finish.
The main class room and toilets was prepared before all walls was painted with two coats of hardwearing, wipeable emulsion. The wood work was also prepared and a undercoat and hardwearing gloss paint was applied.
The new paint work has made such a difference making it look clean and protected ready for the new school term.
It was great giving back to the community. When you give back it reminds you that small businesses like ourselves are the back bone of communities. Everything that’s good for community is good for your business.
It’s the responsibility of small business to be a part of the community and help when you can whether its money or your time.
