Thermal & Fibre Lining Papers

Improve comfort, insulation, and surface quality — the smart way. Old walls can often feel cold, uneven, or hard to decorate. At Drew Decor, we use a range of specialist liners to transform tired or uneven walls into smooth, insulated surfaces — ready for painting or wallpapering. These products not only help paint look better but also make rooms warmer and reduce condensation.

Thermal & Fibre Lining Papers

Why We Use Liners

When walls are stripped of old paper or have been redecorated many times, the surface can become uneven, rough, or cold to the touch. Applying a specialist liner gives us:

  • A smoother surface for painting or wallpapering

  • Better heat retention and comfort

  • Reduced risk of condensation or mould

  • A professional, long-lasting finish

Depending on the wall type and the customer’s goal, we use three main options:

KV600 Thermal Liner

The KV600 Thermal Liner is the premium choice and best for: Cold exterior walls, north-facing rooms, or problem areas with condensation. The Wallrock KV600 Thermal Liner is a 6mm thick insulation liner made from fleece-like material. It acts as a thermal barrier between cold plaster and your room air.

Benefits:

  • Significantly reduces heat loss through walls

  • Warmer rooms and lower energy bills

  • Helps prevent condensation and mould growth

  • Softens sound and improves comfort

  • Can be painted or wallpapered over once installed

Our Process:

  • We prepare the wall and ensure it’s clean, dry, and stable.

  • Apply specialist thermal adhesive evenly across the surface.

  • Carefully hang the KV600 liner, butt-jointing each panel.

  • Smooth out joins, then cross-line or lightly sand for a perfect finish.

  • Finish with paint or wallpaper of your choice.

Wallrock Thermal Liner

The Wallrock Thermal Liner is the mid-level option and best for: Slightly cold or uneven walls that need a boost in comfort and finish quality. This is a thinner, flexible insulation liner that provides a noticeable warmth improvement without the depth of KV600.

Benefits:

  • Adds thermal comfort and saves energy.

  • Hides small cracks and imperfections.

  • Reduces condensation risk.

  • Quick to apply and great value for money.

  • Can be painted or wallpapered directly.

Our Process:

  • Fill and sand walls for a stable surface.

  • Apply thermal adhesive evenly.

  • Hang Wallrock Thermal Liner smoothly and precisely.

  • Finish with a coat of paint or decorative wallpaper.

Fibre Liner

The Fibre Liner is the standard option and best for: Best for: Older walls that just need a smooth, solid base for painting. Fibre liners (sometimes called “Wallrock Fibreliner”) are strong, breathable papers designed to reinforce walls and prevent cracks showing through paint.

Benefits:

  • Smooths out uneven walls.

  • Prevents hairline cracks from reappearing.

  • Breathable and ideal for older plaster.

  • Great surface for painting.

  • Professional, clean finish.

Our Process:

  • Strip old paper and clean the surface.

  • Fill cracks and lightly sand.

  • Hang fibre liner using heavy-duty adhesive.

  • Once dry, we apply your chosen paint colour for a smooth, fresh look.
