When Drew Decor was asked to re decorate this Victorian detached residential care home in Sheffield we couldn't wait to get started.
The three story Victorian property had been previously refurbished what looked like twenty plus years ago with lots of orange and red tones. The owner of the business Simon Mills had the vision of a luxurious, chic and contemporary finish to turn the decor from bland old care home to five star boutique hotel. Providing the residents with a high end look to go with the outstanding service the staff provide.
I must comment on how well run this care home was. Excellent care from the staff with high end facilities.
We split the project into two stages. First we would attack and complete the lower ground floor where most of the activities took place and most of the traffic was including zimmer frames zooming around and staff racing about with emergence cups of teas and cake.
Ceilings and wood work was sand down using our dustless sanders from Mirka to keep a dust free environment for the residents and staff. Once the preparation was finished we could then get out the brushes and rollers and get on with the painting. Ceilings and walls was painted in white throughout the care home for a sharp clean look.
The wallpaper was from Tektura . Proper paper. Wide vinyl that is very durable, perfect for the walls of a busy care home.
The care home even had its own salon and beauty room. Every room had the full make over using wallpaper and paint. I just want to show you this before and after picture. Here is the care home decor before we started the decorating project on the Twelve Trees care home
